Action Packed Saturday!

Talk about an action pack Saturday..... Started out attending Karen & Mike renewing their wedding vows then Preston getting Baptised followed by a great lunch. Since we were in the Bothwell area we decided to head to London for a bit of shopping.  On the way to London we stopped at one of my favourite stamping stores Scrappin Great Deals for a bit of stamping therapy then onto Costco to pick up a few items.  After our shopping excursion we called my cousins to see if they wanted some company and to go out for supper.  We decided to head to Talbotville to Wayside Restaurant where we had a super meal and lots of laughs.  Definitely will go back to this restaurant again but with a bigger appetite.

This card was created for my co-worker who has a westie pup "Bliss".  Bliss is now about 6 months old so for Valentines Day ....Aunt Brenda decided to spoil her once again with a new toy.  Rose shared with me several pictures of Bliss playing with her new toy.  Whoot whoot.....toy was a hit!

The image was coloured with copics and pencils, layered with nesties, used a decorative edge punch on the beautiful yellow/red DP with a big red bow for the final touch.

I think this image is me .....Aunt Brenda ....giving Bliss a ride around town!

It's Raining .... its Snowing.....

All I can say is Good Grief..... is that Old Man confused or what....... Just when you think there is a hint of spring going to happen with the snow melted and basically gone BAM in comes another storm... first rain then freezing rain then finally snow.

Regardless of the weather my DH and I went to our favourite restaurant last night Rossini's for a fabulous meal and amazing show.  Jaimee Paul Jazz Band was there entertaining and it was definitely a top notch performance.  Thanks Ed and Berta for a superb dinner and show....... you guys are terrific.

I know Valentines Day is long gone but would like to share the card I gave my hubby.  Coloured with copics and shaded with prisma pencils, glitter was added (surprise...surprise), ribbon with a metal heart buckle.  Also want to throw in the a picture of the most beautiful roses that DH gave me.....

Start of another Week.....

Had a fabulous weekend....... spent Friday with my BFF, Tracy laughing so hard we could barely breath a bit of vino and an awesome supper prepared by her DH.  My hubby & I made it a movie weekend and just relaxed.

Here are a couple Valentines Day cards I created for my niece and nephew.  They are just getting back from warm sunny skies so wanted to surprise them with these cards with a gift card inside.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Hope everyone is having a great Valentines Day. A couple of weeks ago I had my niece Taya over night and we spent some of our time making Valentines cards. Taya made one for her Mom & Dad and brother Ethan. Let me tell you she is a real natural at this stamping/card making. I think I have created a monster but that would be fine by me that way we can spend lots of special creative days together. Here are a few pictures I like to share of Taya and her lovely cards she made for her family.

I know her little brother Ethan will love this frog Valentine card.

We had so much fun making this glittery martini Valentine card for her Mom & Dad.

Sweets for Your Sweet

At work we do various fund raising events through out the year and for this month it was name "Sweets for Your Sweet" . Everyone was to dust off their recipe books and bring in their favourite baked item. Well.....anyone who knows me knows that baking stresses me out and is just not my cup of tea. I was determined to prove to my co-workers that I too could do this baking thing and not go to a store or bakery to pick something up. I found a terrific recipe in a Kraft magazine called Banana Sour Cream Cake. Looked fairly easy so gave it a shot.

The cake turned out perfectly so thought I would pair it up with a Valentine's card.

Millar Time

Well........... I just had one of the biggest laughs. MBFF posted a "Stella" card on SC and the description mentioned that this image reminded her of an elementary school teacher. I was sure it was Mrs. Millar but guessed wrong. However, after talking about various teachers we both agreed that the Stella image did indeed resemble Mrs. Millar as well as this other substitute teacher she had in mind. When the two of us get together there is never a dull moment and you can guarantee big laughs and a lot of fun. We have been friends for 40 years and over time have been asked if we are sisters which we find hilarious considering our backgrounds.

Now for my post............My sister needed a wedding card and the colours of the wedding is in a deep purple or eggplant. After making this card I realized that I will also change up the colours to white and red for a Valentines Card. If I get a chance in the next few days I will post that one as well.

What time is it????

IT'S BOSS TIME!!

Was that not the best half time show you have ever seen. I'm not normally much of a football fan but the Super Bowl this year was fabulous. The game was very exciting and the half time show was the best ever. The last few years the half time show has been pretty lame in my mind but this year it was totally topnotch. What a performance "The Boss" and the band put on. I truly thought my sister-in-law was going to pass out from watching this man sing, move and gyrate. Gotta love the slide and the swinging of the guitar around his neck. After seeing this 13 minute performance I know Steph and I will be checking out a few of his concerts and that will be "Glory Days".

For my post today it is a Valentines Day card I made for my nephew, Ethan. This card was coloured with my prisma pencils adding a bit of brown stickles and using my heart nesties for the balloons.

First Challenge - MOJO71

What terrific weekend it has been. Friday night partied up a storm with my Pister #1, Laurie and crew for her birthday. My stomach is still sore from all the laughing. Good Times!!! Saturday, I made a card in the morning for Mojo Monday which I will show you later in this post then off to London to see Disney on Ice with my sister-in-law, Stephanie, Taya & Ethan (niece & nephew). The show was fabulous and the costumes were totally amazing. Seeing Taya & Ethan's faces during the show was priceless. Love these special times with them.

This is the card I made for Mojo#71. I have not done or submitted anything before but thought it would be fun and gave it a whirl.

Bought this Bella stamp at my favourite stamping store "The Paper Pickle" the other day so thought I would ink it up and use it for the challenge. Not sure the picture captures it all that well but coloured the image with my prisma pencils and gamsol then added glitter, stickles and crystal affects to the hearts. Since I am a bling bling fanatic, I also added clear gems to the DP to give it that extra. Anyway hope you like and hope to get a few more Valentines Day cards done today.

You Caught My Heart

Today I was able to get a jump on my Valentines Day cards. The card I am posting is for my sweet little niece Taya. She is one amazing, talented young lady. She takes dance classes and is on the competitive dance team. From the time her feet hit the floor in the morning to bedtime she is tapping and doing dance steps. When ever we are together I always ask her to show me some moves. Needless to say her moves are by far smoother than I would/could ever do.
This card was stamped and coloured with my prisma pencils and gamsol then layered on navy using label one nestibilities. For the base of the card I used textured cream CS, found some DP which I layered on shimmery pink edged with MS punch. Added a bit of stickles a bow and popped up the nestibilitie heart.
