Fall Back!

Hope everyone remembered to turn back the clocks 1 hour.  Got to love that extra hour in the day to get things done.......  Last night we attended a VIP evening to raise money for the Children's Treatment Foundation.  Whoot Whoot........... totally successful with an amazing amount of money raised.  Stephanie and Dale, Peter and Veronica you guys rock!  Needless to say the entire evening ROCKED OUT!!!  Coyote Ugly has nothing on us gals!

Here is a card I made for friends who celebrated their 25th Anniversary.  Congratulations Doug and Andrea and many many more years to come.  Another one of those simply elegant designs I love to make.  White base with a layer of shimmery silver then a cuttlebug embossed layer where I added silver gems, silver #25 and for the finishing touch a most elegant shimmery wide silver ribbon.

It's the Weekend!

Yeah.... the weekend is here.  Last night met a  few friends at the Imperial Club for a few cocktails and a BBQ dinner.  This was one of a few fundraisers coming down the pipe for a girls basketball team who will be travelling to Florida to play.  It seem half the town of Dresden was there too support the girls so had an opportunity to visit with people I haven't seen in a while. Today my plans are to head to Chatham and attend a copic class at my favourite local stamping store The Paper Pickle where Linda Heavens will be teaching colouring with copics.  Should be fun and will learn lots I am sure and since the weather here in southwestern Ontario refuses to cooperate and allow the sun to shine makes it ok to be indoors.

Here is a card I gave a friend for her birthday.  I found it to be simple but elegant.  I picked out a mustard colour base layered brown, some beautiful DP, and yellow netting type material, then embossed a piece of shiny brown paper through the cuttlebug where I added a gem to the centre of the flower.  With my butterfly spellbinders template cut out 1 large butterfly and 1 smaller butterfly  from copper colour "tin" sheet, glued them together and added 3 gems to their body.  Taaa daaa complete.......... a simple / elegant card and could be used for many occasions.............   Happy Mother's Day to all and have a great weekend.

Wedding Bliss!!

My "pister" has a wedding this weekend so she wanted me to make a card using the brides colours which is eggplant or deep purple.
For this card I used textured cream card stock for the base then a layer of deep shimmery purple. Next is a layer of pearlized cream card stock embossed with a cuttlebug folder where I added some tiny pearls. Wrapped cream and purple ribbon around the 2 layers then finished with three purple pearl brads.

Happy Friday!!

So glad it's Friday but better yet having a "Happy Friday" from work. Finished up my laundry then checked out some blogs and decided to do some creating. I was inspired to create this card by a card gallery I follow called Heart Prints. Sue Nelson is a very talented lady with a flair and style I adore. Sue is always coming up with different techniques and great ideas. So if you want some inspiration check out her gallery.

The focal point was double embossed using cuttlebug embossing folders, punched out 3 butterflies with my MS punch, added gems to the body of the butterflies and finished off with ribbon.

Sweets for Your Sweet

At work we do various fund raising events through out the year and for this month it was name "Sweets for Your Sweet" . Everyone was to dust off their recipe books and bring in their favourite baked item. Well.....anyone who knows me knows that baking stresses me out and is just not my cup of tea. I was determined to prove to my co-workers that I too could do this baking thing and not go to a store or bakery to pick something up. I found a terrific recipe in a Kraft magazine called Banana Sour Cream Cake. Looked fairly easy so gave it a shot.

The cake turned out perfectly so thought I would pair it up with a Valentine's card.

My First Post

I created this blog some time ago but have never posted anything. Well this morning I decided to give it a try.

Just to fill you in on a couple of things, the title I chose was a given. I LOVE GLITTER! Anything that sparkles and shines I am all over it. So with that being said, it had to be in my blog name. The banner picture is a snap shot of a rose from our Peace Garden. This garden is representation of my parents and my husbands. His Dad always loved roses and could grow the most beautiful roses with little fuss or muss so we added them to the garden with hopes of being able to grow beautiful roses as well.

My first card I want to post is a wedding card I created and posted on SCS. It had great reviews which gave me the confidence to keep posting. The base of the card was made with shimmery pale peach cardstock run through my cuttlebug. I added peach ribbon a few pearls, pre-made bow with the heart sticker mounted on circle nestibilities.
